* Time: 3:30 p.m.

* Site: Coliseum.

* TV: Fox Sports West.

* Radio: XTRA (690).

* The offenses: USC’s swoon has prompted Coach Paul Hackett to make a quarterback change, going with senior John Fox, the starter two seasons ago, instead of junior Mike Van Raaphorst, although Van Raaphorst probably will play. The Trojans have piled up the yards lately, outgaining their last three opponents, but turnovers have contributed to losses each time. Arizona State has standout running back J.R. Redmond back after a one-game NCAA suspension in his bizarre NCAA rules violation case, and backup Delvon Flowers--who rushed for 161 yards last week as Redmond’s replacement--is also dangerous. Quarterback Ryan Kealy missed most of last season’s 35-24 loss to the Trojans after linebacker Chris Claiborne knocked him out of the game with a hit that caused a concussion. Hampered by injuries, Kealy has been erratic this season, but the Sun Devils rely on the running game anyway.

* The defenses: USC’s defense held California to 232 yards last week, but the Trojans lost because of Deltha O’Neal’s interception return for a touchdown and 60-yard punt return to set up a field goal. One missing element for USC lately has been defensive scoring--something that was a big part of the Trojans’ early-season success. Arizona State is a little beaten up after losing starting middle linebacker Solomon Bates for the season because of a knee injury last week and tackle Junior Ioane because of a knee injury the week before. However, defensive end Erik Flowers, with nine sacks, is an all-conference contender.

* Key to the game: Redmond will have fresh legs with his suspension behind him, and a USC defense that has been vulnerable to the big play needs to keep the multipurpose threat in check.
