Long Beach Hospital Names CEO

* Byron Schweigert has been named chief executive of the 741-bed Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach. He had been senior vice president of administration. He succeeds Chris Van Gorder, who was recently named chief of health-care operations for Scripps Health in La Jolla.

* Sega GameWorks, a venture formed by DreamWorks SKG, Universal Studios and Sega Enterprises, has named Ron Bension president and chief executive. He recently served as chairman and CEO of the MCA/Universal Studios Recreation Group and was involved in the planning and development of Universal’s Orlando theme park. In his new role, he will spearhead Sega GameWorks strategic direction.

* Chris Ngai has joined Charles Dunn Co., a Los Angeles-based real estate brokerage and management firm, as chief financial officer and director of operations. Ngai, who was CFO at Daum Commercial Real Estate Services, will oversee financial operations of the firm’s brokerage division.

* Union Development Co., a century-old family-owned real estate development and management firm based in Cerritos, has promoted Erika Ibbetson-White to senior vice president of marketing.

* David Cuyler has joined Paramount Pictures unit Paramount Home Entertainment as executive vice president, responsible for acquisitions, new-business development, planning and operations. He previously worked at Rank Group in London.

* Public relations firm Manning, Selvage & Lee has promoted three executives. Jill Farwell, formerly Los Angeles managing director, has been named chief executive of California operations and will be based in Los Angeles; Glenn Osaki, L.A. deputy managing director, has been named Los Angeles managing director; and Bonnie Quintanilla, senior vice president, has been appointed managing director of the firm’s global technology division in Westlake Village.
