Sherri Finkbine

I think it ironic that the story from Aug. 6, 1962, that you chose to highlight in “Stories That Shaped The Century” was the death of Marilyn Monroe (Nov. 15). Without belittling Miss Monroe’s death, I think that another story on that same page has had far more long-reaching effects on our country and the world: that of Sherri Finkbine traveling to Sweden to seek the abortion of a baby possibly deformed by the drug thalidomide. Thirty-seven years later the debate continues.
