The city will host a grand opening ceremony in December to unveil 11 newly constructed homes in the Los Rios Historic District.

The once-dilapidated homes were torn down in July and replaced for eight families who are scheduled to move back next month.

The homes, which are owned and operated by the San Juan Capistrano Community Redevelopment Agency, an arm of city government, will be rented to the families at a rate of 30% of their total family income.
