And a Twist of Ethnicity

Could you have been so excited about the imminence of the Jewish High Holidays that you made the great French design house Paco Rabanne into Paco “Rabin” in the fascinating feature about Cameron Silver and his vintage shop, Decades, on Melrose Avenue (“Clothes Force,” by Mary McNamara, Aug. 29)?

The late Dinah Shore, for whom I worked in the ‘70s, wore Rabanne, and I can still envision the silver-trimmed bottles at her house. Since that was the first time I’d seen or heard the name, it stuck with me.

It’s a delight to see how successful Silver has become. Cabaret’s loss is retail’s (and fashion’s) gain.
