He’s been shot at, stabbed, thrown out of a window and run down by a car. But the Rev. Sam Scheibler hasn’t let violence stop him from spreading the word of the Episcopalian Church.
Two weeks ago at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., a battle-scarred Scheibler was rewarded for his efforts. The Brea priest was named the archbishop-elect of the Episcopalian Church of North America.
The only post higher in the church is that of the archbishop. He will take over the top position in seven years.
