A Splash of Color for Gardeners

Share

It’s 5:30 p.m., you’ve just gotten home and all the plants look wilted. Do you know where your watering wand is?

If you had one of the new rainbow-hued Dramm Rain Wands, you could spot it even if it were buried in a bed of ivy. It’s that bright. The wands come in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and--my favorite--berry.

Other features will make tool freaks happy, such as the wand’s “400PL WaterBreaker” nozzle that gently diffuses the flow, or the foam hand grip that is just like the kind on quality fishing rods. The easy-to-turn shut-off valve keeps you from wasting water or getting the whole patio wet.

Dramm’s standard Colormark wand, about $28, is 24 inches long. If you trust the kids to do the watering before you get home, there’s also a child-size wand called Watercolors, about $14. You’ll find them at nurseries.
