Seattle-based Rivals.com named David B. Cooper senior vice president of sales for the sports-related Internet company. Cooper comes from Rivals.com competitor ESPN Internet Ventures. . . . Anheuser-Busch Cos., the world’s largest brewer, and Leap Partnership, its advertising agency, were sued by Crystal Jukebox Inc. and music group Bloodstone for allegedly using the song “Natural High” in a commercial for Michelob beer without permission, Bloomberg News reported. St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch and Chicago-based Leap couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Ford Motor Co.’s Mercury division, based in Irvine, will begin a new advertising campaign later this month. Mercury’s new tagline, “Live Life in Your Own Lane,” will define the brand as “a choice for customers who want something a bit out of the ordinary,” said spokesman Jim Trainor. The first advertisements air Monday and most of the campaign begins early next year. Mercury’s U.S. sales this year through September rose 12%, compared with the year-earlier period. That outpaced the industrywide 10% gain in the same period.
