Share

A nonprofit group that helps people with developmental disabilities will sponsor a festival and classic car show Saturday, with all proceeds aiding the disabled.

“This is a positive thing for neighbors,” said Joseph Chu, spokesman for New Horizons. “It’s for the community to come and have fun for a day.”

New Horizons provides several services, including job and living skills, training and housing, to 500 people, Chu said. Clients have such disabilities as mental retardation, autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

The 36th annual event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the group’s office, 15725 Parthenia St. It will include food, games, prizes and arts and crafts.

Admission is free.
