The Walter D. Ehlers Community Recreation Center will be getting new carpet soon. The City Council approved a bid of $9,619 by DuPont Flooring Systems Inc. of Fullerton. The bid exceeds the amount of $9,000 the City Council had put aside, but the additional $619 will be transferred from a building maintenance surplus account to complete the project.

The project was initially advertised in July, but the only bid received was $11,897. When it was re-advertised in August and September, four bids came back, and DuPont’s was the lowest.
