Bullets in Davidian Siege May Be Tested
One of the congressional committees investigating the assault on the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas, may order ballistic tests on some bullet casings found at an FBI sniper position, according to a New Yorker magazine story. A report by the Texas Rangers subpoenaed by a House panel said ammunition often used by snipers was found in a house used by both the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The magazine story said the congressional panel, which was not named, wants to determine who fired .308-caliber bullets and when they were fired.
