Secretive German Colony Is Raided

Police in south-central Chile raided a secretive farming community of people of German descent in the latest effort to capture colony founder Paul Schaefer, who is wanted for alleged child molestation. Schaefer, the leader of Colonia Dignidad, disappeared without a trace in 1996 after he was accused of sexually abusing boys inside the agricultural community. Police have launched countless bids to capture Schaefer, who founded the colony in 1961.
