Comic-actor Howie Mandel and his wife, Terry, have sold their Malibu retreat of five years for close to the asking price of $3.6 million.

The Mandels, who have another home closer to Los Angeles, haven’t been using their getaway much for the last couple of years.

The comic, 43, is also often on the road, and he has been busy with other projects. He did the voice of the title character in the syndicated cartoon show “Bobby’s World,” which he created and produced, and he has starred in a number of HBO comedy specials. His syndicated talk show was recently canceled.

The Cape Cod-style Malibu home has four bedrooms in the main quarters plus a two-story guest house. The home was built in 1957 and was remodeled by the Mandels, who added the guest quarters. The ocean-view house is in Malibu Colony.

Jay Rubenstein of Coldwell Banker’s Malibu West office had the listing; David Putnam of Coldwell Banker’s Brentwood East office and Andy Lyon of Pritchett-Rapf Realty, Malibu, weres the selling agents.

Dennis Franz, who stars as Det. Andy Sipowicz in the ABC series “NYPD Blue,” and his wife, Joanie, have sold their Bel-Air home of 12 years for just under its $1.2-million asking price.

The Emmy-winning actor, 54, also co-starred in the movie “City of Angels” (1998) and “Die Hard 2” (1990).

The couple decided to sell their Bel-Air home because they have a home in Montecito and a pied-a-terre in Century City.

Built in 1939, the four-bedroom Bel-Air home has a family room, den, office, four bathrooms, a detached guest house, pool and spa.

Tony- and Emmy-winning actress Nanette Fabray, who gained fame on the ‘50s NBC series “Caesar’s Hour,” has listed a Pacific Palisades house that she had built on spec. The asking price is slightly more than $1.4 million.

The house, newly built except for the garage, is traditional with a contemporary feel and clerestory windows.

Fabray, in her 70s, has a home in Manhattan Beach and an office in the Palisades. She also has a 412-acre Pauma Valley ranch for sale at $850,000 and two commercial lots in Lancaster--a 19-acre parcel listed at $2.5 million and a 14-acre site listed at $2 million. She leases out a Century City townhouse that she owns.

Cynthia Satterfield of Re/Max Westside Properties, Brentwood, has the Palisades and Pauma Valley listings. Burl Patterson of Coldwell Banker/Hartwig Realty in Lancaster has the listings on the lots.
