Martha Ann Zajic has joined Cox Communications Inc. as director of public relations. Prior to joining Cox, she was director of public relations-West region for Sprint PCS. In addition, Zajic has served as manager of community/governmental relations for Disneyland and community relations manager for Disney Development Co.

* Kristen Simmons has been appointed group manager for brand strategy and communications for Mazda North American Operations in Irvine. Before joining Mazda, Simmons was the corporate advertising manager for Ford Motor Co., and division marketing manager of R.L. Polk.

* Ed Rowe, senior vice president at Anaheim-based Odetics ITS, has been elected to fill a three-year vacancy on the board of directors for ITS America, a not-for-profit public/private partnership that promotes the development, deployment and use of technologies in transportation.

* Anthony Bozanic has been named a manager in the audit department of Corbin & Wertz in Irvine. He was previously with Singer Lewak Greenbaum & Goldstein in the audit department.
