* The Rotary Club of Newbury Park will host its 13th annual Oktoberfest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Conejo Creek Park North, at Highway 23 and Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. There will be German music, dancing and food, as well as arts and crafts booths and children’s activities. Proceeds will benefit local charities. Free admission. Information: 373-1405.

Simi Rotary Club to Present Car Show

* The Simi Valley Rotary Club will host Simi Valley Days Car Show, a benefit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at 4100 Los Angeles Ave. Proceeds will benefit charitable and nonprofit groups in Simi Valley. $5 adults, $1 children 12 and younger, or $10 per family. Information: 527-3300.

Simi Sunrise Club Help With Golf Tourney

* The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise will be among the sponsors of the Fall Classic Golf Tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley on Wednesday at the Simi Hills Golf Course, 5031 Alamo St. The 10th annual benefit will include lunch, door prizes and dinner served at the Boys & Girls Club. $125. Theater Company Offers a Taste of Italy

* The San Buenaventura Foundation for the Arts will present “Romeo and Juliet: An Evening in Verona,” a one-hour production of Shakespeare’s tragic love story, at 6 p.m. Thursday and Sept. 22 and 23, at Nona’s Courtyard, 67 S. California St., Ventura. The benefit will include a three-course Veronese meal, Renaissance music and an auction of Italian items. Annual Gurney Tourney at Harbor Village

* Businesses, clubs and other organizations will compete in the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Assn.’s annual Gurney Tourney, a benefit bed race, at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ventura Harbor Village parking lot, off Spinnaker Drive. Rotary Club to Sponsor Family Magic Show

* Six magicians will mix classical magic and cutting-edge illusions in “Making Magic” shows at 2 and 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Ventura High School, 2155 E. Main St. Proceeds from the family shows, sponsored by the Ventura Rotary Club, will support the high school’s Academic Letter Program and will go toward the purchase of equipment for the school’s auditorium and performing arts program. $6 general, free for children younger than 5. Annual Golf Classic to Be All-Day Event

* The sixth annual Andy Fox Golf Classic will be held Sept. 25 at Los Robles Golf Course, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
