KYSR Reshapes Morning Team With Danny Bonaduce

Effective today, it’s “The Jamie & Danny Show”--no longer “The Jamie, Frosty & Frank Show”--on KYSR-FM (98.7) from 5 to 9 a.m.

Jamie White, the only female member of the former three-person team, stays in place, but Frosty Stillwell and Frank Kramer are out, replaced by Danny Bonaduce, a radio personality and former television star, best known for his role as Danny on ABC’s “The Partridge Family” (1970-74).

Most recently, Bonaduce was morning show host on KYSR-owner AMFM Inc.’s WBIG-FM in New York, which has changed format (and call letters), making Bonaduce available to KYSR.

Ken Christensen, KYSR’s vice president and general manger, said that Stillwell and Kramer were doing well, but he believes the new team can do better. Stillwell and Kramer, he noted, are “still under contract” to AMFM, which is trying to place them at another one of its stations.

The former trio had 2.8% of the audience in KYSR’s target demographic of women 25-54 at their arrival in winter 1998, Christensen noted, and they were able to bring that up to 3.9% in the most recent quarter. “But we want to bring it up to the mid 4s, the high 4s,” he added.
