Ruling Allows Klan to ‘Adopt’ Highway

A court ruling that allowed the Ku Klux Klan to participate in Missouri’s Adopt-a-Highway program was upheld by a federal appeals court in St. Louis. The state Transportation Department said it refused to let the Klan adopt a stretch of Interstate 55 because the Klan discriminates. An appellate panel agreed with a lower court that barring the group was discriminatory.
