Chavez Holiday

Instead of enacting a holiday in memory of Cesar Chavez (March 30), why not adopt a day of recognition in his honor? All workers throughout the state would be encouraged to donate that day’s income to the cause Chavez held dear to his heart--the welfare of farm workers. The politicians can demonstrate their resolve by leading the way with wallet in hand.
