AML Communications Signs Research Agreement

AML Communications in Camarillo has signed a joint research development agreement with the Department of Electrical Engineering at UCLA.

The project will focus on the development of wireless power amplifiers that use Digital Signal Processing techniques. This technology is expected to enhance efficiency and increase performance for wireless telecommunications applications.

The company also announced the appointment of Tiberiu Mazilu, co-founder of AML and most recently vice president of engineering, to the position of technical fellow, dedicated to new product development and mentoring the engineering talent within the company. Scott Behan has been appointed executive vice president of engineering and will assume Mazilu’s day-to-day responsibilities.

Mazilu, who has a doctorate from UCLA in electrical engineering with an emphasis in electromagnetics, will serve as technical liaison on the project between the university and AML.

AML designs and manufactures amplifiers for the wireless, paging and satellite communication markets.
