The U.S. Embassy offered a reward Thursday of as much as $5 million for help in capturing an Algerian suspected of planning a terrorist attack in the United States.

Abdel Majid Dahoumane, 33, disappeared in December at the same time that another Algerian, Ahmed Ressam, 32, was arrested while allegedly trying to enter the United States in a car with bomb-making materials in the trunk.

Police say Dahoumane and Ressam shared a Vancouver motel room for three weeks before Ressam’s arrest and that traces of explosives were found in the room.
