Water Pik Posts $500,000 Quarterly Income

Water Pik Technologies Inc., completing its first full quarter as a public company, posted net income of $500,000, or 6 cents a share, for the first quarter, up from $100,000, or 1 cent a share, on a pro forma basis, a year earlier. Sales rose 21.6% to $65.2 million.

Water Pik, a Newport Beach provider of shower massagers, automatic toothbrushes and pool heating systems, was spun off late last year by Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc.
