Applied Micro Deal

Applied Micro Circuits Corp., a San Diego maker of chips for telecommunications equipment, agreed to buy three closely held chip designers for as much as $241.3 million in stock to add new products. Applied Micro will issue as many as 2.25 million shares and options for San Diego-based YuniNetworks Inc., Chameleon Technologies Inc. of Irvine, and PBaud Logic Inc. of Canada.
