* Re “Killer Stuns Court With Statement,” April 13: I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach after reading of this killer’s in-court statement to the parents and widow of slain CHP Officer Don J. Burt, “I’d do it again.” But is it really surprising, remembering that this monster killer executed the officer for no reason at all?

This killer embodies every single reason why so many people are in favor of the death penalty.
