GARDEN GROVE

City officials are giving away 60 gallons of compost to green-thumbed residents on Saturday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, 13802 Newhope St. Each year, Garden Grove Disposal and the Garden Grove Sanitary District creates the compost out of yard waste separated by residents for recycling. Residents must bring their own containers or buckets to collect the compost. Bags are not allowed. Information: (714) 238-2444.
