In his review of Marvin Hamlisch and Barbara Cook at the Hollywood Bowl (“The Right Amount of Backing Makes a ‘Broadway’ Success,” July 31), Daryl H. Miller states that Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “It Might as Well Be Spring” is “a lesser-known song from the movie ‘State Fair.’ ”
I hardly think that a song that won the Academy Award (1945) and has been recorded by more than 65 artists (including Sinatra, Mathis, Ella, Peggy Lee and Clooney) is “lesser known.”
