5 Indictments Handed Down in Sale of Prescription Drugs on Net

Four people and a Miami-based pharmaceutical supply company have been charged with conspiring to illegally sell prescription drugs over the Internet, federal authorities said. The Justice Department and Food and Drug Administration said the defendants were indicted for conspiring to sell such drugs as Viagra, Xenical, Celebrex, Propecia and Claritin-D to people who lacked valid prescriptions. Called the Norfolk Men’s Clinic, the Web site (https://www.viagra.au.com) purported to provide both online and telephone consultations “with real doctors.” However, no such medical consultations took place, and the defendants created phony prescriptions on a computer that bore the name of a foreign doctor, according to the indictment. Named in the indictment were Anton Pusztai, Anita Yates and Dr. Roger Eiland, all from Clanton, Ala. Also named were All International Co., a wholesale pharmaceutical supplier, and its president, Yvan Degomme.
