Natural Wonders Inc., a chain of mall-based stores selling gifts with science and nature themes, will stop carrying Meade Instruments Corp.’s products, the Irvine maker of telescopes and binoculars said Tuesday.
Natural Wonders will halt its arrangement after acquiring rival World of Science, Meade said. The acquisition is expected to be wrapped up this quarter.
Meade said it is confident it will continue to reach its core customers through its existing dealers, given the demand for its products.
Meade said Natural Wonders accounted for “substantially less” than 10% of its sales for the fiscal year ended Feb. 29. Total sales were $126.8 million.
