Berry Happy

I really enjoyed the articles on mulberries (“Berry Frenzy,” July 19). You brought back memories of growing up in Nebraska. We had mulberry trees in the backyard and they were a real treat in summer. You spread an old sheet on the ground beneath the tree and shook the branches to drop the ripe berries. After picking out any leaves and twigs, we served the berries in a bowl with a little milk or sprinkled on top of vanilla ice cream. Perfect to eat on the back patio while watching birds, squirrels and even an occasional deer come to feast on mulberries.
