8 Killed, 18 Wounded in Kashmir Fighting

Eight people, including four separatist guerrillas, were killed and 18 wounded in different gun battles and a grenade attack in India’s Jammu and Kashmir state, police said. They said 18 people were injured when unidentified militants hurled a grenade at an Indian security patrol in a crowded market in Bijbehara township, 29 miles southeast of the state’s summer capital, Srinagar.
