* Active Apparel Group Inc., a designer and marketer of sportswear, agreed to buy Everlast, the maker of boxing gear worn by champions “Sugar” Ray Robinson, Evander Holyfield and George Foreman, for about $60 million. The stock and cash purchase, expected to close by the end of the year, will immediately boost earnings, Active Apparel said. Following the acquisition, the New York-based company plans to rename itself Everlast Worldwide. Everlast, a 90-year-old closely held company, generates about $200 million in revenue from licensed products.
