Lesbians Kissing

* Re: “All Smiles After Kiss Commotion,” Aug. 24: To put it mildly, I am disturbed that The Times would print a large photograph of two lesbians kissing! You might tell me to wake up and get a clue about our changing society, but not everyone agrees that such behavior is a morally acceptable thing. I particularly resent having to explain it, prematurely, to my young daughter who happened to see the photo and questioned it.

Gay and lesbian folks--God bless them--are not the only people who should have rights in matters like this. What about the right of parents to protect their young children from witnessing overt displays of behavior antithetical to their view of solid and normal family values?
