John and Patsy Ramsey’s attorney accused a prosecutor Monday of turning the Ramseys’ first interview with police in two years into a “fishing expedition” to prove the couple killed their daughter, JonBenet.

Attorney L. Lin Wood said prosecutor Michael Kane would not consider any suspects other than the Ramseys. “I’m not real hopeful” about further progress in the investigation, he said.

There was no immediate comment from Kane or the seven-member investigative team led by Boulder, Colo., Police Chief Mark Beckner.

The group questioned Patsy Ramsey at Wood’s Atlanta office for about seven hours Monday and planned to continue this morning, followed by a session with John Ramsey.

“They may never clear our names till they find the killer,” John Ramsey said Monday. “We’re not here to prove our innocence or clear our name. We’re here to find the killer of our daughter.”

At a break in the talks earlier Monday, Patsy Ramsey had said she was “very comfortable” with the questions.
