Fox Family Channel Chief Named

* After serving as interim head since May, Maureen Smith has been named president of Fox Family Channel and Fox Kids Network. She will oversee all aspects of the networks’ operations.

* Brian C. Mulligan is leaving his post as Seagram Co.’s executive vice president and chief financial officer in the wake of the company’s acquisition by France-based Vivendi. The departure of Mulligan, formerly co-chairman of Universal Pictures, was expected. An accountant by training, Mulligan said U.S. job opportunities at the new Vivendi Universal would be limited and would require relocating his family from Southern California.

* David Jung was named vice president of feature film development at production company Film Roman Inc. of North Hollywood.

* Maria Marill has been promoted to vice president, studio operations, at Culver Studios, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Marill will continue overseeing day-to-day operations at the studios in addition to new responsibilities for expanding its client base.

* Tony Perez and Dan Schlothan have been promoted at Oltmans Construction Co. in Whittier. Perez will be vice president and director of estimating services, and Schlothan will serve as controller.

* Motion picture lab firm Deluxe Entertainment Services Inc. has appointed David Wallace vice president of sales for the company’s video and DVD division. Wallace is a former sales and marketing executive at AmericDisc.

* Lee Papa, a former national director at CEL & Associates, has launched her own firm, Los Angeles-based Consultant Providers, an outsourcing commercial real estate consultant.
