Shepard Takes Kawasaki Marketing Post

Bob Shepard has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president, marketing group, for Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. in Irvine. He will direct the company’s consumer events and maintains oversight of the accessories division. Paul Bailey will become director of a new marketing services department. Succeeding him as West region sales manager will be Tony Murr, who has held a similar position at the Fort Worth office. Murr’s position as Central region sales manager will be taken by district manager Tony Moseley. Kohei Yamada was named vice president, product research and planning for the product advancement and racing division. Hiro Iwai becomes director, product testing, and Bruce Stjernstrom assumes the role of director, professional racing.

* Linda Martin has joined NCG Porter Novelli in Irvine as senior vice president and general manager of the Irvine office. She had been vice president at Laer Pearce & Associates for more than 12 years. Martin previously held communications and media relations positions with PacTel Cellular, Rockwell International and Knott’s Berry Farm.

* Ken Lipinski has been named partner-in-charge of the Strategic Resources Group of Squar Milner, a Newport Beach certified public accounting firm. He had been with Smarthome.com.

* Andrew L. Youngquist has been appointed to the board of directors of the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California’s Senior Housing Council. He is president of Andrew L. Youngquist Construction Inc. in Costa Mesa.

* James W. France, Jr. has been appointed chairman and chief executive of I-xposure Inc. in Irvine. He was formerly president and chief executive for Scriptel Corp. Emma Barlow was named president and chief operating officer. She had been vice president of business development for the company. Before that, Barlow spent three years with EarthLink Network.

* Sherry M. Du Pont has rejoined the law firm of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP in Irvine as senior counsel. She had been with Archon Group, a real estate subsidiary of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Dallas since 1997. Before that, Du Pont was a member of the real estate litigation and workout groups at Cox, Castle & Nicholson.

* Will Robinson has been named chief technology officer for Zapways.com in Irvine. He previously held product and research and development management positions with Gigatron Software Corp.

* Alastair Fraser has been named director of electronic business for Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. He had been marketing director at the company for the process engineering and upstream suites.

Thomas H. Reilly has been elected a partner in the Irvine office of Arter & Hadden LLP. He is part of the labor and employment practice team. Reilly joined the law firm in 1999 from the firm of Scott, Reilly & Whitehead.

* Scott Covey has joined the Greater Alarm Co. Inc. in Irvine as commercial system sales consultant. He was previously a strategic account manager/large systems integrator at Honeywell. Henry Elvira has been appointed systems integration project manager. He formerly worked for Pinkerton Systems Integration. Pat Robertson joined the company as billing manager. She had been corporate administrative manager at Westec Security/Edison Select.

* Christina Mangram has been appointed vice president of e-marketing at Zapways.com in Irvine. She had been marketing manager.

* Jim Huttenberger has been named vice president at Morpace International Inc. and will be based at Morpace West in Irvine. Huttenberger previously worked for three market research firms.

* Frank Limbaugh has joined Global Vantage in Newport Beach as principal. He had been with Deutsche Financial Services since 1987, serving as president of the technology division.
