Hurley Fined $100,000 for Crossing Picket Lines
The Screen Actors Guild has fined actress Elizabeth Hurley $100,000 for crossing Guild picket lines during this year’s lengthy and bitter strike against the advertising industry. Hurley, who appeared before a SAG trial board on Dec. 6, was given credit for a $25,000 donation made to the SAG strike fund in October. Hurley, who in October apologized for crossing picket lines, was the second high-profile person found guilty of crossing picket lines. Earlier, golfer Tiger Woods apologized to the union and paid a fine after being found guilty of crossing picket lines. SAG “will continue to investigate incidents of struck commercial work for as long as it takes to hold accountable those who crossed our picket lines,” said Greg Krizman, a guild spokesman.
