Rape Prevention
* Re “Teens Stage Anti-Rape Protest,” Dec. 15: The students shouted, “Is there ever an invitation to rape?” When students cut classes and drink during these times it is a sure invitation to many things, including rape. The students want more rape prevention classes at school! What happened to the role of the parents, grandparents, older sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles? Why take the time of teachers who are there to teach that which family cannot? There doesn’t seem to be enough time now to get the three Rs into the minds of students.
Get the family back into the cycle of caring and informing rather than expect society to take the total responsibility. Have the parents say more than “thank God it’s a school day and the kids are out of the house.”
