Health Net Appoints President, Vice President

* Hugh A. Jones has been named president of Woodland Hills-based Health Net, one of the state’s largest health plans. He will be responsible for all operational functions at Health Net, including commercial and government operations, medical management, information systems, provider compliance and security. He previously was regional manager for the Southern California region of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals.

The company also named Beverly Bandini vice president of product development responsible for the development of new health plan products for the company’s commercial, Medicare, individual and specialty products business lines. She most recently was director of network development for Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood.

Avery Dennison Corp., the Pasadena-based maker of adhesive labels, said Daniel O’Bryant, a 10-year veteran of the company, will replace Robert Calderoni as chief financial officer next month. O’Bryant is currently vice president and general manager of Avery’s North American pressure-sensitive materials business. Calderoni last month said he is stepping down to become CFO of software maker Ariba Inc.

Tishman Construction Corp. has promoted project executive John K. Cheung to first vice president/project executive and has promoted project manager Michael Kamenir to vice president. Tishman Construction is based in Los Angeles.

Baschar Hraki has joined the Los Angeles office of architecture and design firm Cuningham Group and will serve as vice president for the newly formed Cuningham Design International unit. Hraki is a former Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Imagineering designer.

Robin Lia Whitaker has been promoted to vice president, national promotions and sales development, at Fox Kids Network.

Horizon Media Inc., a New York-based media planning firm, has tapped Rebecca Gill as its media planning director for its West Coast accounts. She most recently was media director for 120 Advertising & Branding.

Barbara Bloom will serve in the newly created post of vice president, television development and production, at Landscape Entertainment in Los Angeles. She comes from Sally Field’s Fogwood Films, where she was a TV executive.

Digital music distributor DMX Music has promoted David Lucoff to senior director of affiliate sales in charge of day-to-day operations.

John C. Moe has been tapped by Divco West as its Los Angeles-based vice president of portfolio management, overseeing the real estate firm’s Southern California and Silicon Valley assets. He previously was a region vice president at Cornerstone Properties.

Imperial Bank has named David H. Brown vice president, municipal leasing, for its equipment leasing division. Brown comes to the Los Angeles-based bank from Pitney Bowes Credit Corp., where he was a leasing executive.

Rapp Collins Worldwide, a direct-marketing and customer relations manager, has tapped Michael Hogan as senior vice president and managing director of its new West Coast office in Long Beach. Hogan will oversee new-business development in the Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego markets. He is a former executive in Young & Rubicam’s Irvine office.

Ronald W. Wade, a senior financial analyst specializing in public agency real estate, has joined the Los Angeles real estate advisory firm Kosmont Partners. Wade also is planning commissioner for Lakewood and a real estate broker.

Curt Northrup has been named director of development at Game Show Network in Culver City. He formerly served as director of development for New Screen Concepts Inc., where he was in charge of the West Coast office and overall producing deal with ABC Television.
