Chuck Mawhinney

Re the Jan. 22 story on Marine Corps sniper Chuck Mawhinney and Philip Hofer’s Jan. 27 letter:

Evidently Hofer never served in the armed forces. I am a WWII veteran. One of the first films we viewed in boot camp was “Kill or Be Killed.” War is not a tea party. Mawhinney served the corps well. I’m proud of his accomplishments.
