From Times Wire Reports

In a move likely to aggravate troubled relations with neighboring India, Pakistan test-fired a new missile that officials said improves accuracy and can hit targets more than 60 miles away. According to a government statement, the short-range surface-to-surface missile can carry a variety of warheads. The statement did not say whether that includes nuclear warheads. It said all of Pakistan’s neighbors had been warned of the test. Pakistan and India tested nuclear devices in 1998 and declared themselves nuclear powers. Both countries possess ballistic missiles with longer ranges than the one tested by Pakistan.
