Patti Friedman, the chamber’s interim president, also announced that she has taken the paid position on a permanent basis.

The chamber’s new chairwoman of the board is Martha Diaz-Aszkenazy, president of Pueblo Contracting Services, which last year lost a bid to develop a multiplex complex in San Fernando’s downtown area.

The new board members are Jacque McMillan, Metropolitan Water District outreach manager; Vergie Allen, co-owner of Dutch Roofer; Zenaida Mendoza, owner of Nuevo Ink; and Ofelia Gomez-Nye, Anheuser-Busch marketing manager.

The chamber’s new officers are Francisco Uribe, GTE public affairs manager; Glen Becerra, Southern California Edison regional manager; and Rob Stern of Stern, Kory, Sreden & Morgan.

Founded in 1921, the chamber is one of the northeast San Fernando Valley’s largest business trade groups, representing more than 200 businesses in the city of San Fernando and adjacent communities.
