Capt. Thomas R. Bernitt, the former commanding officer of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station, retired from the Navy earlier this month and has accepted a position with Environmental Chemical Corp. in Burlingame, Calif. Bernitt was replaced in August by Capt. Paul N. Bruno, 47. Bruno had previously served as the officer in charge at the station’s Bay Area Concord detachment.
