MADD Spokeswoman to Speak at Crystal Cathedral
The Rev. Robert H. Schuller will interview Millie Webb, the national president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at the Crystal Cathedral, 13280 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove.
In 1971, Webb and her family were hit by a drunk driver whose car rear-ended their vehicle. Her 4 1/2-year-old daughter was killed, as was her 19-month-old nephew. Webb, who was pregnant, suffered a broken neck, and her husband was treated for serious burns.
The Webbs’ baby, Kara, was born premature and legally blind as a result of the crash. Since then, Webb has become a well-known victims’ advocate, pushing the MADD organization’s agenda to lower the drunk driving blood limit to .08% in every state.
