The city may give up to $300,000 in sales tax back to Swedish Motor Cars of Orange County during the first five years that it operates a proposed Saab dealership.

The City Council tonight will consider an owner participation agreement that would redirect 50% of the sales tax generated at the dealership back to the owners. The city will begin receiving all of the sales tax from the dealership after five years of operation or after it has paid the dealer $300,000.

Swedish Motor Cars has purchased property at 28370 and 28732 Marguerite Parkway, where it proposes to build a Saab dealership and accompanying service center.

If approved, the 12,051-square-foot dealership would be across from the former Mission Viejo Imports site.
