3 Million Internet Users Registered With NetZero

Share

Less than 15 months after its launch, free Internet access provider NetZero in Westlake Village has reached 3 million registered users.

NetZero believes it is the only Internet service provider other than AOL ever to have achieved this milestone.

The company officially passed the 3 million mark early this month.

“When we launched our service, many were skeptical that NetZero could attract a critical mass of users or entice significant advertisers,” Chairman and Chief Executive Mark R. Goldston said. “Our unprecedented user growth enables NetZero to attract major sponsors and advertisers who understand the value of targeted, one-to-one online consumer marketing.”

NetZero began offering free Internet access and e-mail in October 1998.

Its coverage now reaches more than 2,000 cities nationwide.
