WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING?

Steve Beckmen, Beckmen Vineyards

“A 1996 Clos Baudoin Aigle Blanc. . . . This is from Prince Poniatowski in the Loire Valley, and it’s made from Chenin Blanc. That’s maybe a misunderstood varietal for us in America. He does a dry and sweeter one. The dry one’s about $16, and that’s a good deal for what you get out of this wine. It has amazing fruit and is a really beautiful drinking experience.”
