Muslim Rebels Free More Hostages
Muslim rebels holding hostages in the southern Philippines have freed four Malaysians and two Filipino teachers. Negotiators said an undisclosed ransom was paid. The Malaysians were among 21 mostly foreign hostages seized April 23 from a Malaysian resort by Abu Sayyaf rebels. Seven others from the group also have been released. Later, rebels freed two teachers seized March 20 from a school on Basilan island. One of the teachers, Erlinda Manuel, was two months pregnant when seized and suffered a miscarriage June 25.
