WellPoint, Drugstore.com to Deliver Pharmaceuticals Online

WellPoint Health Networks Inc. in Thousand Oaks and Drugstore.com Inc. in Bellevue, Wash., have joined forces to deliver customized drugstore and pharmacy services through the Internet to more than 22 million network members.
The partnership enables WellPoint--through its pharmacy benefits manager subsidiary WellPoint Pharmacy Management--to offer discounts on over-the-counter products, online processing of prescriptions and access to Drugstore.com’s pharmacy services.
WellPoint has 7.5 million medical and 31 million specialty members through Blue Cross of California in California and UNICARE throughout other parts of the country.
