* “School for New Brand of Spooks” (July 21) is a flippant headline for the CIA that has participated in or arranged the deaths of 6 million mainly innocent people in the Third World during the last 50 years.
The overthrow of the democratically elected governments in Iran, Nicaragua, Chile and scores of other countries in support of monarchies, fruit companies, drug dealers, arms merchants and oil interests has initiated terrible disasters worldwide and will forever be a stain on United States administrations and ultimately on us, the electorate that allows it to happen.
Let the CIA collect intelligence if it must, but let’s quit overthrowing legitimate governments and killing innocent people.
