Navy Team Honored for Boosting Efficiency
A team of Navy experts at the Naval Surface Warfare Center has been awarded the Hammer Award, which honors groups that create processes to make government work better.
The base’s M-SPEC team, which is responsible for keeping the fleet apprised of technical information, developed a Web database of technical requirements that reduced production time from 15 days to eight minutes, said Rosann Carranze, a spokeswoman for the contractor, ITS Corp.
The new process will save the government $7 million over the next five years, Carranze said.
