Boutique Pizza

Put a lid on a pizza and you have Cafe Bene’s stuffed pizzas, which sandwich bright, contemporary fillings between two layers of dough. Options include pesto duck, which combines duck sausage, goat cheese, pesto and tomato, and Santa Fe, which contains turkey sausage, black beans, corn, fresh jalapenos and mozzarella. There’s an all-vegetable and cheese pizza too, as well as single-crust pizzas with toppings such as potato Gorgonzola and spicy chicken. No wonder this little cafe inside Fred Segal in Santa Monica calls itself a pizzeria.
